In 1880, Luigi Gonnelli held a book auction for twelve consecutive days thus inaugurating a new activity, parallel to the existing business of the bookshop, that offered its customers not only the opportunity to buy cheap collectible items but also to entrust the auction sale to the bookshop itself. For over half a century, until the end of the '60s, many important auctions of books, manuscripts, paintings, etchings and drawings have been held. We wish to rediscover that historical activity by offering our customers a deeper access to the world of collecting, as a combination of passion and investment under the aegis of a transparent and ultracentenarian expertise.
