Rookwood XIV, Keramics 2004 and Art Glass 2004 General Pottery Sale Friday, June 4th Beginning at 6:30 PM EST We begin with about 180 lots on Friday evening, June 4th which will consist of a variety of pottery, both American and European with reasonably priced examples of all including Rookwood, Weller, Roseville, Fulper, Moorcroft and Haeger. Keramics 2004 Saturday, June 5th Beginning at 10 AM EST Saturday, June 5th will begin with our annual Keramics auction featuring fine quality American and European pottery such as Roseville, Boch Freres, Weller, Cowan, Fulper and Grueby from the John Hunter & Allen Weisberger Collection, Newcomb, Amphora, Royal Doulton, Teco, Red Wing, Moorcroft, Peters and Reed, Sevres, Paul Dachsel, Chaplet and Zsolnay. A wonderful collection of middle period Roseville features about 40 pieces of Pine Cone as well as strong Imperial II items. Art Glass 2004 Saturday, June 5th Beginning at 4 PM EST Saturday afternoon we will offer some important Art Glass items including fine examples of Tiffany, Steuben, Loetz, Daum (a wonderful enameled lamp and vases), Galle' (featuring two blown out vases) along with the Lila and Marion Nelson collection of contemporary Scandinavian glass with many fine examples of Benny Motzfeldt and her contemporaries. Rookwood XIV Sunday, June 6th Beginning at 10 AM EST Sunday, June 6th is Rookwood day with over 400 lots of the best Rookwood featuring items from the Vance Jordan Collection and the Truett Lawson Collection. One of the most important Rookwood vases ever sold, from the Truett Lawson Collection, is a Black Iris vase with cranes painted by Kataro Shirayamadani in 1900 and possibly shown in the 1900 Paris Exposition. The vase has applied metal mounts of copper and silver done at Rookwood and is certainly one of the most impressive items sold by Cincinnati Art Galleries LLC. Other features will be the largest silver overlay Rookwood vase know, Iris glaze vases by Schmidt, Shirayamadani and Sax, Decorated Porcelains by Conant, Hentschel, Epply, Hurley and Sax, large Standard glaze vases by Shirayamadani and Valentien, amazing Vellum vases by Asbury, Diers and Rothenbusch, a fabulous Jensen nude, good silver overlay pieces, a Cranch pilgrim flask, several plaques, early works by Nichols and a fine Native American portrait by Grace Young.
