Books, Autographs and Prints

The November 8 auction offers Rare Books, Autographs and Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints. Featured among the AUTOGRAPHS are examples from Signers of the Declaration of Independence, including Thomas Jefferson (lot 2008) as well as Abraham Clark from New Jersey, William Whipple from New Hampshire, Oliver Wolcott from Connecticut, Elbridge Gerry from Massachusetts, Thomas Heyward, Jr. from South Carolina, George Reed from Delaware, William Williams from Connecticut, and James Wilson from Pennsylvania. Other autographs feature Samuel Clemens, Grover Cleveland, Sinclair Lewis, Harry S. Truman, Woodrow Wilson and a group by Franklin Delano Roosevelt. BOOKS offer illustrations by the famed Victorian illustrator, George Cruikshank, and the folio, Warm and Cold, by David Mamet. Also offered are 20 lots of MAPS, mostly dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The selection of MODERN EUROPEAN PRINTS feature examples by Edvard Munch, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Marcel Duchamp and Jacques Villon, Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, Joan Miro, and a selection of French posters.
