3) - Click "Install" if asecurity window appears, similar to the image below.

4) - If you experience the following error "Failed to load source file. A connection with the server could not be established. Reason = Error C" it is due to a firewall or internet security program (such as Norton) that is blocking access. You will need to either create exceptions to allow access or disable these programs prior to opening the bidding console.

If you clicked the "View Live/ Bid Live" link and nothing happened, or you were sent back to the install page instead of seeing instructions to install the plug-in, then you have something blocking our console from installing. Please read the following list of factors to see if one applies to you.

If you are behind a security wall or lack full administrative rights, most common in corporate environments, you will need to speak to your system administrator or Internet Service Provider (ISP) to allow access through ports 6789, 9126, & 8000 because only they will be able to change the permissions for our Bidding Console to install on your network. Also if you have the ability to open the above ports through your router please do so and retry the installation

If you have spy ware blockers or anti-virus protection applications on your computer, please temporarily disable them to see if the plug-in installs. Industry leaders like Symantec, McAfee, AVG and Trend Micro tend to block certain browser plug-in installations.

If the above situations do not apply, then it may be that your browser settings are not configured properly to allow ActiveX items like our Console plug-in to install. If you are using Windows XP SP2 or Vista, a yellow information bar should appear at the top of your window. That bar can only appear if your security levels are set to "medium" and all ActiveX items are set to "prompt" or "enable".

In Internet Explorer, to manually install the ActiveX site plug-in. Please follow the listed steps below.

- Click on “Tools” which is located on the top right side of your web browser
- Click on “Internet options”
- Select the “Security” tab
- Click on the “Internet” icon
- Click on “Custom level…”

Within the settings list please scroll down to:

- Allow previously unused ActiveX controls to run without prompt - Click “Enable”
- Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls - Click “Enable”
- Download signed ActiveX controls - Click “Prompt”
- Download unsigned ActiveX controls - Click “Prompt”
- Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins - Click “Enable”

Click “OK” to save these changes. Close and reopen the Internet Explorer web browser and attempt to connect to the sale. Follow the on screen installation instructions to load the LiveAuctioneers console.

If your settings look correct, it may be that a past encounter with another product has irreparably shut the prompt down for downloads like ours. If this is the case, switching to a new browser will give you a clean slate. We’ve heard from many users who could not install our Console Plugin using Internet Explorer that it worked like a breeze when they tried Firefox 3 instead. You can download Mozilla Firefox for free from their site: www.mozilla.com/firefox. It will not replace Internet Explorer as your default browser if you don’t want it to. You can run both browsers on your computer (even at the same time).
