Roy Lichtenstein enjoyed working in ceramics and undertook several projects in this medium after designing this service. In 1964, assisted by ceramist Ka Kwong Hui, he produced an important body of ceramic sculptures, still the best Pop ceramics of the era, some based on piles of cups and other featuring a female mannequin torso. In the 1980s and 1990s he created limited edition works for Rosenthal Porcelain and also for Artus Magnus in New York.
