a full bodied painted wood fish with open mouth, glass eyes, and metal fins - detailed incised carving defines mouth, tails, and neck area; the overall finish is a black fading to gray then pink along the mid section and all speckled with black spotting, most unusual is the glass enclosed center port which houses a large fish hook adorned with fur; sign retains iron hanging eyelets and has additional eyelets on underside perhaps for hanging additional signage - offered with early iron hanging stanchion with wrought iron chain (not pictured ), a most unusual trade sign 38" l.
