R-1 Mongolian 14th century "Golden Horde" pointed conical "cap-helmet". 22 cm tall iron bowl - beaten from a single piece of iron. Drilled holes along sides and back rim to which chain mail was attached. A conserved and restored excavation find, the metallic substances are remarkably well preserved. Extremely rare 14th century helmet from the time of Subotai, one of the sons of Genghis Khan. (Originally listed as "Nr. 203" in the Hermann Historica Auction No. 54 held on October 19, 2005. In addition, this helmet appeared on the October 18, 2010 CNBC Special Report on "Alternative Investing". The owner took part in a discussion on investing in antiquities.) Rare III
