R-5 Museum copy of a 15th century Turkish helmet. Tall 11" fluted conical shape bowl. Profusely engraved with continuous vertical floral designs. 2" band along rim and tapered top have gold washed Islamic inscriptions. Finial consists of a gold decorated crescent holding a star. The gilt washed decorated, adjustable nose guard is surmounted with a gilt decorated large "teardrop". Chain mail neck guard. Quality padded lining. With an antique wood stand. (Formerly part of a Turkish museum collection.) An excellent display item. II+
