M-1 Late 17th/early 18th Century flintlock pistol. 11 1/2" browned barrel with fluting on lower portion above tang. Early type lock with original fittings. Fine carved walnut stock with relief floral work. Floral decorated brass end cap. One large iron turned "pipe" and one smaller in brass. "Pineapple" topped iron trigger guard with a narrow stylized side plate. Iron butt cap/straps show age and light pitting. Pierced silver escutcheon with two dragons holding a shield - mounted below raised carved floral work below the tang. Practically identical to a specimen attributed to Andrew Dolep who worked in London from 1681-1717. About II
