Satiric collage of Picasso. 1957. Vintage ferrotyped gelatin silver print. 21,2 x 16,2 cm. Signed by the photographer in pencil on the verso.
Marc Foucault has been referred to as a sort of "Jekyll and Hyde" photographer. In his earlier career and to make money, he illustrated several books on cathedrals and castles in France, but he also did very curious, surrealistic work such as the image offered here. Between 1943 - 1968 he worked for Gallimard publishers. In 1968 he gave up photography and began painting. - In very good condition.
