This hobo patched coat was worn by Elliott Gould as Walter Hill in the film "Harry and Walter go to New York", (1976). The lined costume is made of heavy canvas. It has a beige felt collar, cuffs and pocket flaps and 6 large wooden buttons. Patches of orange squares with blue and red lines, and green with pink polka dots are hand appliquéd. An inside tag reads Western Costume and has Elliott Gould's name. The chest measures 46 in., the length is 46 in. The coat has a 12 in. hem that could be let out. Gould wears this in a big song and dance number near the beginning of the film. All measurements are approximate. Included is a photocopy of the costume in use. This coat is in very aged condition.
