Virginia Mayo Dress from The Silver Chalice

Virginia Mayo received top billing and starred opposite Paul Newman in this first century period piece. The Greek inspired dress is salmon colored chiffon with a flesh colored one piece, lined bathing suit underneath. The outer dress has gold fasteners on the right side that secure a flowing waist to hem slit. The same gold rope-like pieces adorn the shoulder straps. An image showing the piece in use in the film also comes with the lot. This costume is from the collection of Debbie Reynolds and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Ms. Reynolds. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Hollywood Motion Picture Museum. The underneath piece has 32 inch hips, a 22 inch waist and a 32 inch chest. All sizes are approximate.
