This original set rendering of "The Smith Family Home" was done by MGM Studio artist Alex Dukelski. It appears in the opening credits of the movie, and then as the action begins, the painting dissolves to the actual setting of the backlot. Alex Dukelski was the brother of the famous Hollywood composer, Vernon Duke. "Meet Me In St. Louis" featured Judy Garland and Margaret O' Brien as the Smith sisters, and gave us some of Judy's finest music including "The Trolley Song". This beautiful watercolor is signed, matted, and framed to an overall size of 14 x 18. The artist has noted on the matte that it is from "Meet Me In St. Louis".
