Description
A superb signed document relating to Monroe's most famed film, "The Seven Year Itch", one page, 8.5 x 11, December 31, 1955. A formal release statement in which Monroe, in lieu of payment for her services, formally releases 20th Century Fox from any legal action that could be taken by her in relation to the film. The document reads, in part, "Know all men by these presents, that I Marilyn Monroe of New York, New York, for myself, my heirs, executives and representatives, for valuable consideration to me in hand paid and the receipt with release forever discharge Twentieth Fox Film Corporation...of and from all manner of action or actions, cause and causes of action, claims, demands, whether in law or in equity...in connection with the foregoing...production, distribution, exploitation, or other matters or things relating to a certain motion picture photoplay titled The Seven Year Itch." Beautifully signed in full at the conclusion by Monroe in a crisp, vibrant black ink. Tastefully matted in linen along with an original 11 x 14 lobby card from the film and an 8 x 10 photograph of Monroe from the famed Subway scene.
