Sound of Music Original "Curtain" Dress

This children's costume is from the 1965 ever-popular musical "The Sound of Music" starring Julie Andrews. Maria supposedly made these play clothes out green and white curtains from the manor. This dress, belonging to Louisa (Heather Menzies), is sleeveless, ties and buttons in the back with side pleats on a full skirt. It measures 24 in. at the waist, 32 in. at the torso and has a total length of 33 in. The costume, purchased at a Butterfield & Butterfield auction, still has the identifying tag.
