Additional Information & Circa: Fine & rare exhibition vase by Loetz. Vase was possibly executed by Koloman Moser and Robert Holubetz. Note from consignor: "Here is the story (letter) that came with the vase explaining how and who aquired it. While traveling with his wife in Europe(1899-1900) John D Putnam of New England( Mass/New Hampsire) bought this vase for his wife who loved the colors and design. Putnam and family were known for their huge nationwide timber business.The Putnams both passed and the vase went to Johns sister. This vase was sold when Putnams sister passed at 92 yrs old and given to her long time care giver. They had plastic flowers in this vase when its was sold in 1990 to the current consignor.This vase was also originally thought to have been done by Franz Hoffstater. Shape is featured in the 1900 Loetz Paris exhibition book in the line drawing section. This vase was studied by a well know german auction house, as a rare and desirable piece. They also agree this exact pattern or blueprint in the Paris Exhibition loetz book where the blueprint in black and white can be found in the back of the book" ; c. 1900
