George Nakashima Trestle Table
(Japanese-American, 1905-1990) solid walnut plank dining table, the top is 1 1/16 inch thick, atop a trestle base with an oval stretcher. Unsigned, trestle stamped "XY," underside of top faintly signed with customer name "Levy." The George Nakashima 1958 Price List features this table as being the largest and most expensive of dining tables. 28.5 x 84 x 40 in. Fine estate condition. Purchased in the 1960s and the mid 1970s directly from George Nakashima, the furnishings were a prized possession and the centerpiece for many family dinners and festive occasions.
