Note:
John Fast was a Lieut. in the Diplomatic Core stationed in Russia at the Canadian Embassy, Moscow from 1956-1958, when this lot and lots 1361 and 1362 in this sale and other Russian paintings sold in this salesroom on December 6th, 2004, Lots 334-337 inclusive were acquired.
Mr. Fast held a position at the Pentagon in Washington for several years before returning to Canada where he resided in his retirement years.
