Cudlip on slip tipped-in on front pastedown, a few ff. working loose, some ff. excised, browned, original vellum, rubbed and soiled, lacks part of lower cover, sm. 4to, [eighteenth century].

***With a poem The Game of Cricket. "Peace & her Arts we sing - her genial Pow'r; Death tips the Wicket & the Game is done" [first and last lines].The contents also include a verse in Latin with an English translation of an epitaph to the memory of Edmund Pollexfen by his daughter, Ann Bastard and "Lamberts day 1728 The Town Clerks Speech at the Mayor Elections at Plymouth."Poems include: On General Wolfe; A Parody on Shakespeare Addressed to the Macaronies; On Admiral Vernon who was found at the Plough when he was sent for to go on the Expedition against Porto Bello; A Receipt for an Asthma; Epitaph for Mr. Pope; From a Lady of P....n to a Gent (taken from Pope); The Rats of the Cheese; Prologue spoken by his present Majesty (Geo 3rd)... [Crum T3103]; The different Reception of Truth and Flattery, a Political Table. Addressed to John Wilkes...; Percy (Dr. Thomas) The Hermit of Warkworth, a Northumberland Ballad, [Crum D34]. Some poems dated variously between 1756 and 1775..
