We at CNY Book Auctions are pleased to be working with The Boyce Thompson Institute for plant research, located here in Ithaca, New York on the Cornell University campus. After developing its reference library over the past 80 years since it was founded in Yonkers, New York, the Institute has elected to sell the contents of that library and has contracted CNY Book Auctions to handle that sale through eBay Live Auctions. This is a unique opportunity for scholars and parties interested in supporting BTI, to access an exhaustive collection including approximately 2,000 books ranging in age, printed from the 1800's through the late 1900's. Many of the titles are scarce, and deal with very specific plant research topics. Some books will be offered individually while others will be grouped together for bulk sale. Check out the rest of our catalog to view the entire Boyce Thompson Institute inventory.

About BTI: William Boyce Thompson founded the Boyce Thompson Institute of plant research in 1924 on the premise that basic plant research leads to a real benefit. Many potential applications of BTI research are to improving crops – by increasing yield or nutritional content, or decreasing the need for harmful fertilizers and pesticides. Other research could lead to inexpensive plant-made vaccines, or even shed light on the human immune system. Though it remains an independent, non-profit institution, BTI is now affiliated with Cornell University.
