Pendant motif of simulated rubies and diamonds in antique silver metal, signed K.J.L. (Kenneth Jay Lane), mid- 1960s. Necklace is 15 ¾" long, 2 ¼" deep; ear clips are 2 ¼" long, 1 ¼" wide. Condition is good with a few cloudy or dark stones and a white residue around the stones and on the metal of the ear clips. Miss Miller is wearing the necklace in a photograph in her autobiography Miller's High Life, Doubleday, 1972, which is included in the lot. A similar necklace is worn by fashion doyenne Eleanor Lambert on page 146 in the book Kenneth Jay Lane: Faking It by Kenneth Jay Lane and Harrice Simons Miller, 1996, Harry N. Abrams. Mr. Lane calls it his courtly necklace.
