We at CNY Book Auctions are pleased to be working with both The Boyce Thompson Institute for plant research, located here in Ithaca, New York on the Cornell University campus, and Mann Library, part of the Cornell University Library System. This particular auction lot is from the books that have been sent to us by Mann Library, not from the BTI library de-accession. Coincidentally, Mann has included many antique and scarce botany titles as well as approximately 1,200 cookbooks. Condition/Details:This volume is an extremely scarce treatise on plant and animal life, covering cellular functions of organisms, nutrition, reproduction, and the geographical distribution of plants and animals. Bound in red blind-stamped cloth, the volume is lacking most of its spine and the boards are detached. The binding is stable, and the pages are very bright and clean, especially for a book of this age.
