Title: Document signed "Kamehameha" by the King along with the signature of his sister, Princess "Victoria K. Kaahumanu", the Prime Minister (Kuhina Nui)
Author: Kamehameha IV, King of Hawaii
Description: Partially printed document filled out in ink, with red wax seal. 11x19.5 cm. (4¼x7½").Hawaiian language Royal Patent, deeding land, executed in the first year of the reign of Kamehameha VI, grandson of Kamehameha I and nephew (and adopted son) of Kemehameha III. His sister, the somewhat scandalous Victoria K. Kaahumanu, served as his prime minister, and, following his death, was monarch of Hawaii for a day, November 30, 1863. She has here signed the scarcer form of her signature - more commonly she used the shorter "Kaahumanu". The top portion of the document, which was blank and on which were commonly places plat sketches of the land granted, has been clipped off.
