Miniature red wash box in a sugar chest form, appears to be cherry with molded edge top and central hinge, post and tenon box with square nail construction, on turned tapered legs with ball feet. Illegible pencil inscription on inside lid. 6-1/2" H x 9" W x 5-1/2 "D. Found in Alabama. Southern, mid 19th century.
Very good condition with older finish. Central hinge replaced with small interior patch to the lid.
