A LARGE SILVER TORAH SHIELD BY JOSEPH ZWEIG. London, 1921. Scroll and leaf chased border, inscribed in Hebrew and English flanking the plaque box. With typical applied symbols. Lacking interior scroll and plaque box cover. Engraved in English: "IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR DEAR SON JOSEPH CUSHELSON WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION JULY 26, 1917 FROM HIS LOVING PARENTS". Marked. 12" tall. Formerly property from the Manchester Great, New and Central Synagogue of Great Britain.
