Edward F. Boyd ( 1878-1964) is known for his landscape paintings featuring New York, Connecticut (where he died) and Canada (where he was born). The scene here is of a storm (including lightning) moving across a farm. Dark muted tones of expressionism. Painting needs a clean and some restoration. In original frame with some nicks and marks. Overall good condition.
