Taking ten years to produce, this set spans over 3,000 pages, with 500 magnificentchromolithographic plates, 70 engraved plates, and 840 illustrations. Over 24,000 grape varieties are discussed, the most important of them being visually represented through the deft draftsmanship of A. Kreyder & J. Troncy. Volume One presents general information about grapes, their biology and history in the craft of wine making. Volumes Two through Six go on to explore individual grape varieties in detail, all indexed within Volume Seven.
