Van Nelle's Gebroken Thee. ca. 1925

Artist: JACOB JONGERT (1883-1942) Size: 48 5/8 x 35 1/2 in./123.5 x 89.5 cm Van Nelle was the major producer of coffee and tea in the Netherlands for most of the early 20th century. Around the time that this poster was created, the factory itself was being rebuilt, with a noted heavy influence from Russian Constructivism. That foreign flavor is not lost in this image, the sharp lines and off-kilter angles reminding the viewer more of El Lissitzky than his Danish contemporaries. Rare!

B+/ Printed on corrugated board; slight tears & wear at edges; scratch in blue saucer.
