Artist: BOOKS AND PERIODICALS Size: 14 3/8 x 36.5 in./10 5/8 x 27 cm A complete album of fifty-six embossed chromolithographic postcards (forty-eight entertainment personalities and eight aviators) by Lefèvre-Utile. The postcards of the "Contemporary Celebrities"–including works and photos of Maurice Donnay, Anatole France, Grün, Guillaume, Jane Hading, Marcel Lender, Mily Meyer, Cleo de Merode, Jeanne Granier and Sarah Bernhardt (seen in the role of Gismonda and repeating her testimonial to LU)–are shown in portrait form in the bottom of each card. And it's not just Ms. Bernhardt who is full of kind words: Each card has celebrity testimonial to the wonders of the Lefèvre-Utile biscuit. All are embellished with Art Nouveau borders that entwine and frame each card. Featured aviators include the Wright Brothers, Santos-Dumont, Voisin, Curtiss, Bleriot and Farman.

Overall excellent condition; very slight wear at bottom of spine.
