Artist: LEONETTO CAPPIELLO (1875-1942) Size: 45 1/2 x 60 1/2 in./45.6 x 153.7 cm Imp. Vercasson, Paris "This beaming cook advertises Krema, a margarine claiming to be better, more digestible and cheaper than butter. The design is perfectly straightforward, without hype; only the realistically depicted cookware and the sheer black background provide the visual stimulus that leads our eye to the message" (Cappiello/Rennert, p. 158). This is the only known copy of this image printed on silk.
