Reinder Visscher, Netherland, 1904-1973. An oil on panel painting in the open air style popular after the invention of tube paints lead us to the understanding of this defused light depiction of a somber landscape scene. Small, thin brush strokes create this impressionist rendering of a mirrored pool reflecting the flanking trees and cloud covered sky during the natural light of a summer day. Signed by the artist Reinder Visscher, front lower right corner. Authenticity guaranteed. Measures 19 ½" x 31" + 3 ¼" frame (50.2 cm x 19.2 cm + 8.8 cm).
