Raymond Quence, French, born 1932. An oil on canvas painting of a glassy surface seashore reflecting the sailing vessels at rest while figures ascend a stone walkway heightened by castle rotunda fragments nestled in the heavily foliaged background. This is a Classical rendering with naturalistic hues and subtle tonal quality creating the tranquil mood of a 19th century setting. The artist Raymond Quence of France born 1932 has signed the piece on the front, lower left corner. Authenticity guaranteed. Measures 28 ¼" x 36" + 4 ¼" frame (72.3 cm x 91.7 cm +11.2 cm). Provenance: Purchased from Findlay Galleries, Chicago. Includes pamphlet with history of the artist and Guarantee dated 1983.
