Stunning antique Chinese hand carved ivory Emperor and Empress court scene. The Emperor and Empress are standing under a tree with the Emperor holds plaque with calligraphy. The Empress is seated and playing the pipa. There are court hands presenting a flower and one holding an umbrella. A young female attendant is standing near with vase. Also in the scene are tables with bonsai and flowers. Scene is completed with reticulated scrolled courtyard fence. 19th/20th century. Measures 12" height x 16 1/2" length x 8 1/2" depth (30.5cm x 41.9cm x 21.6cm). Total weight of 3207 grams.
