Unique pair of percussion revolvers reminiscent of E. Roots, a design for the Colt Company that also included revolving rifles of this style. Example produced in 1855 numbered 7676 at the butt; example produced in 1856 numbered 4880 on the butt. Each featuring a 3 in. octagonal barrel with fluted five-round capacity cylinder.
Please note, these guns are grouped among Antique Black Powder Colt Revolvers made prior to December 31, 1898, not subject to Federal or State Gun Laws. Worn overall condition, some metal pitting evident, much of the finish is gone. Wood grips from example numbered 4880 are rather nice.
