Circa 1875. Bronze sculpture with green patina of a baying stag by Antoine Louis Barye (French, 1795-1895). Inscribed 'Barye,' Susse Frères, Paris. Excellent overall condition, shows little wear or age throughout. 25x20x20 inches. cf. Offered here is a striking original bronze by. Barye was considered one of the finest sculptors of his time, and his works adorn the streets and museums of Paris, where later in life he was even appointed Director of Drawings at the Louvre.
