Fine, gilt bronze and tortoiseshell boulle marquetry. Incorporating both 18th and 19th century elements. Cartouche shaped body with enameled dial with Roman numerals, within a border of bronze scrolls over a panel with a seated figure amidst foliage and scrolls, the finial cast to represent an allegory of Time; the tortoiseshell veneered ground inlaid with mother of pearl and stained 'horn' flower heads, on shaped feet; with a sinuous bombe bracket, similarly decorated. Replaced elements to both case and movement, good condition. 20x41x10 inches.
