Folk Painted Sheet Iron Drinking Cup. Folded rim, cupped bottom and applied loop handle. Painted red, and yellow with black and white accents and a gilt panel outlined in blue with legend: "This cup was the first piece of tinware made in Guthrie, Oklahoma by Mr. James Deems of Hudson, Mich. Apr. 22nd 1889." 3 1/4"h. X 4 3/8"dia. Condition: Good with use wear.
