Condition/Details: This lovely antique volume is a catalogue of Kippenberg's collection of books, artwork, and items concerning Goethe, Faust, and Old Weimar. The work, primarily in German, includes many reproductions of items from the collection, including photos and prints of the art, reproductions of title pages of collectible books, and at least three extremely authentic-looking tipped-in pages of letters. Originally bound in three-quarter leather, the volume has lovely patterned boards and a cloth-covered spine. The gilt-topped pages are bright and clean, the binding is intact with some tape repair to a few spots and the hinges. An exciting and scarce collection.
