Condition/Details: This lot includes five early and scarce botany monographs, three of which are signed by their author. The volumes are: two copies of “A Key to the Genera of Woody Plants in Winter, including those with hardy representatives found growing wild or in cultivation within New York State” by K. M. Wiegand and F. W. Foxworthy, printed in Ithaca, NY, in 1904, both of which are signed “with compliments of the author” on the front cover (which author is not clear); “The Conifers of the Northern Rockies” by J. E. Kirkwood, printed in Washington in 1918; “Check List of the Forest Trees of the United States, Their Names and Ranges” by George B. Sudworth, printed in Washington in 1898; and “Doctor William Houstoun, Botanist” by Edith Duncan Johnston, printed in Savannah in 1942, and inscribed by the author on the inside front cover. All the volumes are softcovers, generally in good condition, with wear to the wraps of the Sudworth text.
