Condition/Details:Bound in blue cloth with gilt decoration, this is a very scarce survey of the state of New York in the late nineteenth century. The title page continues: “Embracing historical, descriptive, and statistical notices of cities, towns, villages, industries, and summer resorts in the various parts of the state, together with a complete list of the post offices, counties, and county towns, lakes rivers, railroads, &c.” The exciting work is profusely illustrated with nearly two hundred beautiful engravings of scenes around the state. The outside has some age/wear, the binding and hinges have some play, and the pages have some toning and scattered spotting.
