Condition/Details: This huge volume is the first volume of this extensive work on the animal and plant life of the oceans, c1913. The work is a showcase of some truly remarkable illustrations, from the countless two-tone sketches of intriguing sea creatures, to the plentiful and incredibly striking full-color plates, presumably by Méheut. The gorgeous work is bound in green cloth with white lettering, and has some edge wear and play in the binding. The text and plates are in excellent condition, bright and clean. The book measures approximately 14” by 11”.
