Moguchaya kul'tura sozdayet moguchuyu kooperatsiyu [A Powerful Culture Creates a Powerful Cooperative Movement], a poster by an anonymous artist. Published by VTsSPO, Moscow, 1918. 88 x 61 cm.

A very early poster that must date to the beginning of the year - note the use of old orthography. The somewhat opaque slogan can be roughly rephrased as "Cooperative trade will benefit from advances in knowledge and technology that will come with the new society". Trotsky in Culture and Socialism expresses the idea as follows: "The culture of ... cooperative trade is an important part of the (material) culture of the period of transition to Socialism.... Culture is driven by advances in technology".
