As noted by O. Ulemnova, many graphic artists working at Kazan' at the time were strongly influenced by the ideas of German Expressionism. This poster may have been produced by one of the artists of the Kazan' Vsadnik [Rider] group. Graphic artists of Vsadnik considered themselves the heirs to the legacy of the Blaue Reiter movement.
