Armiya Bratstva [The Army of Brotherhood], a poster by Nikolai Kochergin (1897-1974, Meritorious Artist of the Russian Federation). Published by OGIZ-IZOGIZ, Moscow-Leningrad, 1932. 105.3 x 71.2 cm.
Along with Moor and Deni, Kochergin must be considered one of the leading Soviet poster artists of the Revolutionary period. By 1920, Deni and Moor had firmly settled in Moscow; the younger Kochergin spent the war closer to the front, supervising poster production in Kharkov, and later in the Caucasus. After the war, Kochergin lived in Leningrad, working as a posterist, book illustrator, and stage designer. Search extension words / key tags: Russian poster, Soviet propaganda.
