TRAM Prem'yera / Vs. Vishnevsky / Na Zapade - boy [Premiere of Vs. Vishnevsky's "Battle in The West" at the TRAM Theater], a poster by Fedor Kondratov (attribution by consignor). Printed at Pechatny Trud Lithographic Works, Leningrad, 1932. 92 x 68 cm.
Fedor Kondratov (1897-1944) was a popular theater artist and a talented book illustrator. He produced film posters in the 1920s, and made a number of TASS Windows posters during the War. Kondratov's collaboration with the Leningrad TRAM (Working Youth Theater) covers a period of many years (1928-1936). TRAM staged the first theater production of Vishnevsky's 1931 play, with Kondratov doing the stage design. In Moscow, the play didn't open until the 1933 season. A low-print poster, which is typical for this poster genre. Search extension words / key tags: Russian poster, Soviet propaganda.
