Painter, caricaturist, and poster artist Sandor Ek left Hungary for Germany after the fall of the Hungarian Soviet Republic. In 1933, he was forced to flee again, and spent the next 12 years in Moscow. With the end of WWII, he returned to (now Socialist) Hungary.
