Quite early in her career, Ekaterina Zernova gained the reputation as an important easel and monumentalist painter. Her works were regularly exhibited at Soviet exhibitions abroad, and she was considered one of the leaders of OST, the Society of Easel Painters. Through the 1930s, in addition to painting, she also produced a number of posters.
