... Sovetskoy zhenshinoi gordy ... [... Proud of Soviet Women ...], a poster by Viktor Ivanov (1909-1968, Meritorious Art Worker of the Russian Federation). Published by Iskusstvo, Moscow-Leningrad, 1941. 86.7 x 61.4 cm.

Viktor Ivanov started producing posters in 1931, while still a student at the Leningrad VKHUTEIN/State Arts Academy, but before the war, he was better known as a film artist. With the start of WWII, Ivanov again turned to poster graphics. As a posterist, he won two State Prizes, one of those for his works of the war-time period.
