Soyuz rabochikh i krest'yan - neziblemaya osnova sovetskoy vlasti [A Union of Workers and Peasants Is the Cornerstone of Soviet Power], a poster by Alexei Kokorekin (1906-1959, People's Artist of the Russian Federation). Published by IZOGIZ, Moscow-Leningrad, 1958. 87 x 56 cm.

By 1958, Alexei Kokorekin had established himself as one of the "trusted" Soviet artists. With recognition came privileges, and the next year he was allowed to go on an artistic trip to India. Upon his return, the artist fell sick, and died - apparently from smallpox he picked up on his trip.
