VICTORIAN STERLING INK STAND, HENRY WILKINSON & CO., SHEFFIELD, 1852-53, H 6", L 11", D 7":The inkwell has a pierced scroll design and scroll feet. Two glass inserts hold glass ink bottles with sterling silver hinged lids. In the center is a small urn form candlestick mounted atop a pedestal. An octagonal cone shaped snuffer attaches to the side of the candlestick. All marked with a Sheffield Sterling .925 lion, a Sheffield date mark "I" designating 1852, a makers mark of Henry Wilkinson & Co., and a Queen Victoria I mark (1838-1890). The stand only weighs approximately 23.2 troy oz.
Condition reportshows residue silver polish GA The lid of one ink bottle has come loose, as has the silver base of the other ink bottle. Overall good condition. EG Both ink bottles are cloudy with chips
